About the Artist

I've always had a passion for art, but it was my high school art teacher who changed the way I looked at things, everything, not just art. It was an exercise that we began by closing our eyes while he described an apple. The shape, colors, light, reflected light, shadows, stem and texture were all described in explicit detail. Then, we were asked to open our eyes, and without a single apple in the room, we began to draw what we saw in our minds eye. I was amazed by how good the drawings were, but even more amazed by the differences in the drawings, even though we all received the same description. I realized that we all see and interpret things in different ways. My art, is my interpretation  of how I see the beauty that exists all around me. I am fascinated by color, and how light dances over and around all that I see. We are surrounded by beauty, whether in a landscape, wildlife, architecture, a sunset or a single flower. I enjoy capturing and painting that beauty in my work. I hope my work brings a little bit of that to you as well.
